Let’s Adopt! International Founder Viktor Larkhill received an email from a Good Samaritan asking for help. Attached to the message was Khan’s photo. The poor dog lay on the ditch, paralyzed and unable to move. As soon as Viktor read the letter, he rushed to the said location to save the paralyzed stray dog.
Once at the rescue site, Viktor immediately noticed Khan’s defeated look. No one knows exactly how long the dog has been in such an ordeal, but his sufferings end now. Khan needs help, and Viktor promised to make him healthy and happy again.
Asking around the neighborhood, Viktor learned Khan suffered abuse in his past life. Eventually, he found himself abandoned, left to die by the side of the road. Thankfully, someone with a good heart saw him.
Viktor gently scooped Khan up and loaded him into the rescue car. Then, he drove him straight to the animal hospital, where the pup received immediate medical attention. After a thorough examination, vets revealed Khan suffered from polyradiculoneuritis, an autoimmune condition that causes inflammation of the nerves that result in weakness and paralysis.
Khan immediately started treatment. For months, he underwent physiotherapy. He took his time recovering, and his rescuers were so happy as his condition improves.
Several months after his rescue, Khan fully recovered. He stood on his own again, and soon, he was playing and running with the other rescue dogs. Now, it’s time for Khan to find his new forever home.
With the help of his rescue friends at Let’s Adopt! International, Khan found his home. Today, he lives a beautiful life in Germany. He loves his adoptive family so much, and they adore him just the same.
“I’ve never seen a dog as happy as him,” said Viktor. “Khan is really, really happy. He finally belongs to a loving family. He now has a great life, and it’s wonderful.”
